On the flying carpet, a series of 11 images repeats three times. I stand at the first image, and ask the audience to also find the same image to stand in front of it. The talk begins, and it unfolds as I move to following image, the whole group moves as well. In a circle, where the images repeat but are never the same, we discuss going round and round, how the concept of time is a construction, how it varies in other cultures, with a special focus on Amerindian languages.

Illustrations developed as visual cues for the talk "With the Future Behind Us: locating tools for a decolonized city", presented within the International Summer School: Explore – Share – Perform: Arts & Science in Urban Context at the garden of RUB University, Bochum, Germany
